Museum and Design Disciplines

 

In a new essay entitled the "'MoMu Effect': On the Relation between Fashion Design and Fashion Museum” doctoral student Marco Pecorari from the Centre for Fashion Studies explores the relation between fashion design and a Belgian fashion museum.

In his essay he presents the case of MoMu, the Fashion Museum of the Province of Antwerp, and its peculiar relation with local fashion design. The essay is part of the academic publication "The Museum and Design Disciplines" - edited by Maddalena Dalla Mura and Matteo Ballarin - which originates from a series of research conferences organized and held at IUAV university of Venice (2011), in collaboration with Fondazione di Venezia.
