The presentation aims to evaluate and discuss the implications of mass digitalization of film archives and sources on cinema for the overall film historiography. Introducing two open media archives, and, that hold thousands of annotated films, he will discuss possibilities for comparative film studies. This is also an open call for developing alternative ways of researching, thinking, writing and curating through digital sources of cinema heritage.
