The event was a way for us to include perspectives from work life outside the academia. It was held in English due to fashion being an international phenomenon and research field.
Philip Warkander, Lecturer in Fashion Studies started off with a motivating lecture about “The field of fashion now and in the future”. Then followed a panel discussion led by the moderator and PhD student Ulrika Berglund.
We were delighted to present:
- Alina Bendikova, Designer och Entrepreneur
- Helena Mellström, Marketing Manager, Swedish Fashion Council
- Lise-Lotte Olofzon, Head of Marketing Weekday
- Tove Nilson, Head of Marketing and Communications Kulturhuset
- Philip Warkander, Lecturer, Writer and External advisory for Swedish Fashion Council
The panel talked about fashion, different pathways leading into the job market and offered their own experience and knowledge of the job market within the field of Fashion.
We want to take the opportunity to thank our guests again. Our students were thrilled to meet them and the positive reactions to the event made it evident how important it is to bring the job market and significant role models to students in education and the Centre for Fashion Studies are therefore aiming to make this a regular event.
